ORDER OF WORSHIP | 14 JUNE

Questions for Discussion

1. What is the goodness of 8th Word? What is its gravity? Its generosity? Its gaiety?

2. Is there any aspect of “you shall not steal” (in the “6 Ts”) that struck you? That was a new concept for you? That particularly convicts you?

3. How could it be that stealing from your neighbor is actually an even greater offense against God than against your neighbor?

4. Take a look at Proverbs 30:7-9. In what way is this prayer of wisdom wise? Do you know someone who is a “minimalist”? What is their relationship to money and possessions like? Is it healthy? Attractive?

5. Have you met someone who is wealthy and has lots of possessions, but is still generous and open-handed with their wealth? What do you think accounts for a person’s ability to be content in any and every situation (Philippians 4:11-13)?

6. What do you think about the claim that we will never have a healthy, generous, content, joyful relationship to our money and possessions until the radical generosity of Jesus in the face of our theft captures our hearts and transforms us? Have you experienced this in your own heart and life?

7. What is God saying to you? What are you going to do about it? Who is going to help you?
