Responding to God’s Word

*Song of Response

Hymn 301: Lord Jesus, Think on Me
Text: Synesius of Cyrene (c. 400); Trans. Allen W. Chatfield (1876)
Tune: SOUTHWELL, William Daman (1579)
Music

Lord Jesus, think on me,
And purge away my sin;
From earthborn passions set me free,
And make me pure within.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
Amid the battle’s strife;
In all my pain and misery
Be Thou my health and life.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
Nor let me go astray;
Through darkness and perplexity
Point Thou the heavenly way.

Lord Jesus, think on me,
That, when this life is past,
I may the eternal brightness see
And share Thy joy at last.

Minute for Mission

IPC was recently privileged to be able to contribute Fr. 1’000 to help this church near Cape Town in South Africa. This congregation is helping to feed the poor and destitute who are especially vulnerable due to the Covid crisis. Our gift helped to feed 100 families for 3 weeks. The film shows Pastor Botha as he distributes food parcels to the people in the impacted area.

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
